The Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Information Technology (B.Sc. CSIT) is a Bachelor’s Degree offered by Tribhuvan University through 60 colleges all over Nepal. BSc CSIT is a 4-year program that is delivered in 8 semesters, and the students enrolled in the program graduate with a total of 126 Credit Hours. The course is taught in different regions in Nepal, and there are a total of 3072 available seats. The curriculum for the program is designed by considering the courses practiced in the most prestigious international universities. In addition to the core Computer Science and Information Technology courses, the program offers several elective courses from which the students can select the courses they prefer to study based on their individual preferences and the demands of the sub-branch of Computer Science they plan to enter. The foundation and core courses are structured to fulfill the requirements of the undergraduate academic program, while the elective courses are designed per the evolving demands of the industry. The students explore a diverse array of subjects, including the design and implementation of computer software systems, foundational theoretical models of computer science, and a practical understanding of computer hardware. The B.Sc. CSIT program is designed in such a way that it equips the students with intensive skills and knowledge in different areas of computer science and information technology, including but not limited to design, theory, programming, and application of computer systems.

Should have successfully passed 11 and 12 classes in Science stream with minimum full marks 100/100 in Physics and Mathematics respectively and should score final grade ‘C’ in all subjects.

For grading system

Should have successfully passed 11 and 12 classes in Science stream with minimum full marks 100/100 in Physics and Mathematics respectively and should score a minimum of second division.

For the percentage system

Should have successfully passed I.Sc. or equivalent examination with minimum full marks 100/100 in Physics and Mathematics respectively and should score a minimum of second division.

For PCL (I.Sc.) or equivalent

Should have successfully passed A Level in science stream (with full marks 100/100 in Physics and Mathematics respectively) and should score minimum D Grade (With or without small letter).

For A level

Should have successfully passed three years diploma in Engineering with full marks 100/100 in Physics and Mathematics respectively and should score a minimum of second division.

For CTEVT

Should have to submit an equivalence letter from the Curriculum Development Centre, Sano Thimi, Bhaktapur.

For International Education Institute or International University

Obtain at-least 35 marks in the entrance examination.

Should have successfully passed the CSIT Entrance Examination.

All courses, except for project work and internships, have an internal weightage of 40% and an external weightage of 60%. For courses that include laboratory work, the internal weightage is divided into 20% for laboratory work and 20% for internal assessment. Students must secure a minimum of 40% in each category to pass a course.  The final grade and grade point for each course will be based on the sum of the overall weightage from all categories. A separate practical examination will be held for the 20% laboratory work, conducted in the presence of an external examiner.  Project work and internships are evaluated by different evaluators. To pass these components, students must secure at least 40% from each evaluator. The final grade and grade point will be the sum of all evaluations. An external examiner will be assigned to evaluate the final presentation.

The grade awarded to each student in each course is determined by their overall performance through both internal and external evaluations. Various criteria are employed for continuous internal assessment. The external evaluation is exclusively based on the board examination conducted by the Institute of Science and Technology (IoST). Each course grade is represented by a letter grade, reflecting the student's overall performance in that course. The program blends academic theory with practical skills to educate students on real-world issues in IT and business. Students must complete 126 credit hours, which include project work and a required internship. The program focuses on problem-solving, leadership, teamwork, and communication—all critical skills in today's digital and corporate environment. BIM graduates are well-prepared for positions in information technology, banking, business, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), government agencies and startups. They are also eligible for postgraduate study in information technology, management, or similar subjects.

The Bachelor of Business Management (BBM) is a four-year, eight-semester undergraduate program provided by Tribhuvan University's Faculty of Management. This curriculum is intended to prepare future managers, entrepreneurs, and business professionals by combining modern business education with practical management abilities. BBM focuses on fundamental subjects such as marketing, finance, banking, entrepreneurship, and leadership, with students able to specialize in later semesters. To be admitted to the BBM program, students must pass the TU-conducted CMAT entrance exam. The Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) is a four-year undergraduate program offered by Tribhuvan University (TU) under the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences (FOHSS). Introduced in the academic year 2074/75 B.S. (2017 A.D.), the program is designed to produce skilled and knowledgeable professionals in the field of computer applications and software development.&nbsp;Unlike traditional science-based IT courses, the BCA at TU offers a rare opportunity for students from arts, humanities, and social sciences backgrounds to enter the rapidly growing world of information technology. This makes it the only formal IT-focused course in Nepal designed especially for non-science stream students, bridging the gap between technology and other academic disciplines.&nbsp;The program is structured over eight semesters (four years) and is currently available in more than 128 affiliated and constituent colleges across Nepal. Each year, around 4,500 students are enrolled in the program. The medium of instruction and examination is strictly English, ensuring graduates are prepared for both national and international job markets.&nbsp;The curriculum combines theoretical and practical knowledge, covering essential subjects such as C++, Java, Python, Database Management Systems (DBMS), operating systems, software engineering, and computer networks. The program also includes project work and internships to help students gain hands-on experience in real-world environments.&nbsp;To be eligible for admission, students must have completed +2 (Higher Secondary Education) or an equivalent qualification from a recognized board with a minimum of second division (40%) or a CGPA of 2.0. Admission is generally merit-based, with some colleges conducting their own entrance tests as per TU’s guidelines.&nbsp;Graduates of the BCA program can pursue a wide range of careers in the IT field, including roles such as software developer, web designer, database administrator, system analyst, IT support officer, and project manager. The degree also provides a strong foundation for further studies such as MCA, MIT, or MSc in Computer Science. Should have successfully passed Grades 11 and 12 from a recognized board in any stream (Science, Management, Humanities) with a minimum grade ‘D+’ in each subject and an overall CGPA of 2.0 or above.

For Grading System

Should have successfully passed 10+2 or equivalent in any stream with a minimum second division (40%) overall marks.

For Percentage System

Should have passed a Proficiency Certificate Level or equivalent in any discipline, securing at least second division (40%).

 For PCL (I.A., I.Com., I.Sc.) or Equivalent

Should have successfully completed A Level in any stream and must have secured at least grade D in all subjects. Equivalency from Curriculum Development Centre (CDC) is mandatory.

For A Level

Applicants must have passed three years diploma from CTEVT in any stream with at least second division marks.

 For CTEVT

Candidates with international qualifications must submit an equivalence certificate issued by the Curriculum Development Centre (CDC), Sano Thimi, Bhaktapur.

For International Boards or Universities

All applicants must appear in the BCA Entrance Exam conducted by Tribhuvan University and must score at least 35 marks to qualify for admission.

Entrance Examination

Each course includes 40% internal and 60% external evaluation. For lab-based subjects, internal marks are split into 20% for lab work and 20% for internal theory. Students must score at least 40% in each component to pass. Project work and internships are evaluated separately by internal and external examiners, and a minimum of 40% is required from each evaluator.

The BCA program at Tribhuvan University uses a semester-based letter grading system. Each subject is graded on a scale from A+ to F, based on a 4.0 grade point scale. Grades are awarded by combining scores from internal and external evaluations. The grading reflects a student's overall academic performance in each course.
